Gus Antorcha, the president, of Holland America Line, issued the following statement today in response to the US government’s announcement that the mandatory pre-departure testing requirement for inbound air travelers to the United States will be lifted in June 12.
Airline passengers entering the United States have been required since early 2021 to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test to enter the country, with non-citizens required to show proof of vaccination in addition to a negative test result.
“The expected announcement that CDC will be ending its requirement of a negative COVID-19 test for Americans to reenter the United States is an important step forward in the return to all global travel, including cruising. The change means that U.S. travelers can pursue their love of cruising Holland America Line voyages from homeports in Europe, Canada, and Australia without concern they could be denied entry to return home.
