What’s launching in Jordan in 2018

Aqaba Resorts

The growth of tourism to Jordan is set to grow further in 2018 with the billion-dollar expansion of two resorts in Aqaba due to open. The Ayla resort will be Aqaba’s largest development and home to Jordan’s first 18-hole Championship golf course (launched March 2017) and the new Hyatt Regency Aqaba Ayla Hotel, which is scheduled to open in quarter two. Once completed in early 2018, Saraya Resort will be home to four five-star hotels (two Jumeirah and two Starwood), a marina, the country’s first water park, plus shopping and dining facilities.

City break in Amman

Four new five-star hotels are set to open in Jordan’s bustling capital city, Amman in 2018. The W, St. Regis, Fairmont and Ritz Carlton are all brand new, exciting developments and showcase the growth of Amman as a city break to visitors. Coupled with the emerging ‘hipster’ scene thanks to the various restaurants, cafes and bars that are opening up across the city, this showcases Amman as a great short break for UK tourists.

Jordan is a key destination for adventure tourism and after last year’s successful conference, AdventureNext Near East is set to return to the country this year on 7-9 May. AdventureNext will host tourism professionals from within Jordan and surrounding countries, along with international tour operators to tap into another year of networking, marketplace meetings, adventure discovery and talks from keynote speakers to further drive awareness of Jordan as an adventure travel destination.
