اڪون and Rozina also took time off to visit Queen Elizabeth National Park and to track the endangered Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park located in Southwestern Uganda.
Akon has in the past expressed interest in making investments in various parts of Africa.
In Senegal, plans are underway for a cryptocurrency dubbed the Akoin in Senegal, which he has previously branded a “real-life Wakanda.”
The $6 billion investment will span across 2,000 acres, located some 60 miles to the south of Senegal’s capital, Dakar. Akon laid the first stone for the project in September 2020.
Uganda adds to the list of countries including Congo and Kenya where he intends to fulfill his dream of a real life Wakanda for members of the African diaspora from near and far.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, on April 16,1973, Akon began his music career in 2004 when he released his debut album “Trouble.” The album was a huge success and produced multiple hit singles such as “Locked Up.”
