The eye of Hurricane Irma passed to the north of St. Kitts & Nevis earlier today.

The Federation has sustained minimal damage overall. Hotels are reporting no structural damage and all visitors are safe and accounted for. St. Kitts’ Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport (SKB) reopens as of noon tomorrow.  The hurricane warning has been discontinued as of 11:00AM EDT and the flash flood watch that was issued up to 3:00PM EDT today has also been discontinued with immediate effect. Per the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and The Chair of the Executive of the National Emergency Operations Center, Deputy Prime Minister the Honourable Shawn Richards, the general public has been advised that the ALL CLEAR has been given to local citizens. Updated information will be provided as it becomes available.
