Television news reports say a bus carrying mostly elderly Slovakian tourists crashed on a Croatian highway, killing at least 14 people and injuring 30.

Television news reports say a bus carrying mostly elderly Slovakian tourists crashed on a Croatian highway, killing at least 14 people and injuring 30.

Slovakia’s TA3 television says the injured are being taken to hospitals in the nearby Croatian towns of Grospic and Zadar.

The report says the bus skidded off the highway and slammed into a bridge pillar Sunday morning. The cause of the accident was under investigation.

The bus with 49 passengers was on its way from the eastern Slovak town of Kosice to the Croatian city of Vodice.
