Turtle Beach is committed to supporting local economic activity in Barbados. On Friday evenings, guests can take an excursion to the famous Oistins Fish Fry and enjoy dinner, music, dance and the local craft market – showcasing the lively, colorful and delicious aspects of Bajan culture. On Sundays, local artisans and craftspeople display their unique Bajan handcrafts at the resort. Handmade products include ceramic and leather goods and woodwork items. Snow cones and coconuts spiked with rum, an all-time favorite, can also be experienced here.
The resort conducts a weekly neighborhood walk that introduces guests to the local lifestyle and beautiful beaches. Guests are treated to a personal tour of local fruits growing nearby and opportunities to spot indigenous flora and fauna.

The use of muted and colored lighting is used when visitors observe turtle hatchlings during the annual breeding season. Staff also assist with monitoring nests to ensure the safety of the eggs and hatchlings.
