Joss Stone will be on the island nation as part of her “Total World Tour,” performing at Tamassa Lounge and Seafood Restaurant, Eden Island, on October 20.

Through the “Total World Tour,” the singer-songwriter is aiming to perform in every country recognized by the United Nation. Since 2014, she has landed on six continents and visited over 150 countries around the world.

In each country, she raises awareness about world music, culture and charitable initiatives through public shows, collaboration with local artists and visits to charity organizations. Under her belt are collaborations with top worldwide-known artists in the likes of Sting, Mick Jagger and Damien Marley.

During her short stay in the 115-island archipelago of the Indian Ocean, Ms. Stone will collaborate with a young local uprising soul artist.

Born Joscelyn Stoker, the 31-year-old started following her career in the musical industry at the age of 13, securing her first record deal at just 15. Hailing from Devon, UK, Joss Stone rose to fame with her debut album – “The Soul Sessions” in 2003.

“Project Mama Earth” is the latest album that she has collaborated on. Bringing together the influence of funk, soul and Afro-pop music, the album is a mix and fusion of rhymes of all artists and musicians featuring on it.

Apart from being a singer, Joss Stone is an actress and has made appearances on big screens in movies such as “Eragon,” “James Bond 007: Blood Stone,” and popular television series “Empire.”

Talking about Ms. Stone’s visit to the Seychelles, Seychelles Tourism Board Chief Executive Mrs. Sherin Francis mentioned her satisfaction that the artiste choose Seychelles to feature on her world tour.

“It is an honor and a pleasure for Seychelles to be placed on the map by such a multi-talented artist. The interest regarding Joss Stone’s presence in Seychelles demonstrates that there is room for all kinds of music genres and artists to also come and perform on our shores,” said Mrs. Francis.

Joss Stone has over the years been nominated for and has won various awards including the Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals in 2007.

After leaving Seychelles, Joss Stone will be performing in Madagascar and later on in Comoros, two islands that are part of The Vanilla Islands.
