ITALY (eTN) – EHMA (European Hotel Managers Association), the association of profesionals of the hospitality industry in Europe, entrusted Mr. Ezio Indiani to fulfill the position of national director, Italy. The ceremony was held in Biarriz, France, on the occasion of the Annual General Meeting. The elected deputy of Mr. Indiani is Mr. Roberto Cappelletto, general manager of Palace Hotel Villa Cortine di Sirmione, Garda Lake.

Priority on communication
Indiani emphasized the importance of maintaining and encouraging the concept of internationalism to increase the prestige of the association, and he plans to make Italy more EHMA present abroad with continuous communication and systematic action to create synergies between the partners. For this reason, foreign partners will be invited to attend the Italian meetings. Also, communication will be stepped up to be more effective by planning a bimonthly newsletter in Italian and an English version with news on achievements, on restructuring, and product launch. The newsletter will be sent also to foreign colleagues.

Password: high quality
Another priority of Mr. Indiani is to increase the number of active members to 500. All general managers of Europe’s most prestigious hotels should associate with EHMA. For this, it is required to increase the number of international members, which is currently low. Italy has many applications for membership but cannot be accepted, while the inclusion of young directors of major hotels that participate actively in the social life of the association would give vital impetus at the global level.

The next meetings in Italy should be attended by major speakers with a high-profile content. A team will be formed for the scope of looking for Italian institutional sponsors and possibly two or three at the international level.
Training is another key program for a national delegate. Indiani will become a head hunter by becoming a constant presence at the Hotel Training Colleges and Italian universities, such as IULM, LUISS, and Bocconi CISET, with the aim to spot young people with a high potential to enter the hospitality industry.

An award-winning professional in hospitality
During his career, Ezio Indiani has gained extensive experience in the international field of luxury hôtellerie, working for some of the most prestigious hotels in the world, where he achieved good results thanks to his management skills, enhanced by the Italian style. In 2002, he was awarded the Hermes Prize as the best hotel manager in the world, and in 2009, he was awarded the Premio Excellent as an international hotel manager.

The general manager at the Hotel Principe di Savoia from July 2005, Indiani began his career with his first experiences in Germany and London. In Italy, he joined the Milan Hilton International and the Cavalieri Hilton in Rome as manager of food and beverage. After further experience abroad at Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic and Hyde Park Hotel in London, he took up the direction of the Hotel Eden in Rome (Forte Group), on behalf of which he also directed the Grand Hotel Palace Fonte in Fiuggi, and for several years, the Hotel des Bergues in Geneva.
