Today, Las Vegas announced the beginning of Vegas Season with a city-wide activation in Chicago. Similar to the holiday season, Vegas Season comes just once a year and is the season of living – resorts, shows, dining, shopping, pools – Las Vegas has it all. Vegas Season has something for everyone and it is the perfect time to let loose, recharge and make memories that will last a lifetime.

“Las Vegas comes to life during the summer with unparalleled daylife, nightlife, entertainment, dining, shopping and more,” said Cathy Tull, senior vice president of marketing for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA). “Vegas Season embodies the summertime spirit, freedom, fun and rewarding yourself with a much-deserved vacation.”

Las Vegas took Chicago by storm as Mr. Las Vegas himself, Wayne Newton, and more than 100 Vegas Season carolers hit the streets of the Windy City. The morning began in Union Station as the carolers, sporting white robes and sunglasses, belted out Vegas Season carols, including “Put Your Booty in a Swimsuity” and “Summa Girls, Vegas Girls.”

The morning crowds were also privy to Newton appearing live on WBBM, followed by multiple appearances on WGN as they serenaded commuters via a riverboat as it coasted along the Chicago River. The next stops were Pioneer Court and Buckingham Fountain as the carolers set up shop at the renowned locations and treated crowds to energetic and engaging performances.

Vegas Season came full circle at Wrigley Field on Friday afternoon. Wayne Newton joined the sprawling group of carolers in front of the iconic Wrigley Field marquee to greet fans and pose for photos before Newton headed inside to throw out the first pitch in the Chicago Cubs vs. Pittsburgh Pirates game.
