Ms. Ravneet Kaur has been appointed the new chairperson and managing director of the public sector India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC).
She succeeds U. Narula of the Jammu and Kashmir cadre of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
Kaur is from the Punjab team of IAS and has held several important positions in her state and center.
ITDC is under the Ministry of Tourism and has acquired a new importance because of a government move to divest some of the hotels under the ITDC.
Ravneet Kaur is the first woman to hold a full-time chair and managing director position in the ITDC.
